Untrained- The Black Mental Health Crisis- Where are the providers? Data from the American Psychiatric Association (APA) shows that only 2 percent of the estimated 41,000 psychiatrists in the U.S. are Black, and just 4 percent of psychologists are Black. Untrained follows the story of five Black clinicians discussing the challenges of working in the mental health field as a Black clinician. From internship struggles to lack family support to the inability to pay for school or to keep a business open post-COVID.
